3 But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. 4 For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully.
"simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ" not marry not the angels not any single saint. remember Jesus transfiguration on the mountain when they noticed moses and elijah? God told them to listen to his son "listen to Him!". never once did Jesus or any apostle teach to make graven images of moses and elijah and to pray to them for help and to be their servant
1 John 2
26 These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. 27 As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.
2 John 1
10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; 11 for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.
3 it seemed fitting for me as well, having investigated everything carefully from the beginning, to write it out for you in consecutive order, most excellent Theophilus; 4 so that you may know the exact truth about the things you have been taught.
"scripture only" is the real early church or "church fathers". anything that came after that is what the apostles warned over and over what was coming. they wrote scripture "so that you may know the exact truth about the things you have been taught" because of the false teachers that created the catholic and orthadox religions. no new teachings were supposed to come the exact opposite was told to come false ones that would introduce destructive heresies and malign the truth

11 But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a one.12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? 13 But those who are outside, God judges. Remove the wicked man from among yourselves.
Acts 4
12 And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
1 Timothy 2
5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
1 John 2
1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; 2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.
25 When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell at his feet and worshiped him. 26 But Peter raised him up, saying, “Stand up; I too am just a man.”
"Peter raised him up, saying, “Stand up; I too am just a man" catholics claim they follow Peter but here he is rebuking bowing down which they do to their images
2 Corinthians 11
13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.
they are the synagogue of satan. they deny our only Lord and savior Jesus and tell you to find help from "saints" or angels
29 Being then the children of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man.
1 John 5
21 Little children, guard yourselves from idols.
The real "church fathers" Jesus and the apostles were heavily against graven images or people praising them for doing something in Jesus name.
Romans 1
24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
catholics literally pray to marry to be her servant and pray for her to protect them literally making her or the image created by them from their imagination their God. those candles you always see at burial sites is literally them burning aromas to their image of her their queen of heaven
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.
2 John 1
6 And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.
John 14
21 He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” 22 Judas (not Iscariot) *said to Him, “Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.
6 In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, 7 so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
you are being tested you who say Jesus is king and you have failed that test when you put hope in man. you will go through fire and you must remain faithful picking up a weapon and going after those causing the fire is not remaining faithful its disobeying Jesus command to forgive your enemies and to bless them. its a obvious sign that you are still a slave to death and have not been set free. those under grace give grace even unto death
17 For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And if it is with difficulty that the righteous is saved, what will become of the godless man and the sinner? 19 Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.
2 Thessalonians 1
8 dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
those who know Jesus teachings and dont obey them are in the most danger. they will face the greater punishment. many are going to be told begone I never knew you. many are going to take the wide path to destruction. many are called few are chosen
21 For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, 22 who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; 23 and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. 25 For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’ 39 But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. 40 If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also. 41 Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two. 42 Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you. 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
59 They went on stoning Stephen as he called on the Lord and said, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!” 60 Then falling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” Having said this, he fell asleep.
this is what an actual disciple of Christ does in a "Self defense" situation. If you pick up weapons and glorify wars you are an enemy of the cross. you can hold a cross in your hand or wear it around your neck but it means nothing compared to the actual message of the cross which is surrender. Like Jesus gave up his life for sinners you are supposed to as well.
22 Samuel said,
“Has the Lord as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
As in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.
Romans 6
16 Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?
Exodus 16
8 Moses said, “This will happen when the Lord gives you meat to eat in the evening, and bread to the full in the morning; for the Lord hears your grumblings which you grumble against Him. And what are we? Your grumblings are not against us but against the Lord.”
22 Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brethren; to Him you shall give heed to everything He says to you. 23 And it will be that every soul that does not heed that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’
Luke 6
46 “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?
John 14
15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
Notice how Jesus commanded do not be "called" teachers and you couldn't find a single example of people calling him "teacher". Saying you are going to teach the gospel does not mean you are commanding people to call you teacher which is the command Jesus gave.
Jesus commanded to call nobody father. There is no command to call nobody your "spiritual son". its common sense
Matthew 23:10: "And do not be called teachers ; for One is your Teacher, the Christ."
But wait...
1 Timothy 2:7: "for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying— a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth."
2 Timothy 1:11: "to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles."
1 Corinthians 12:28: "And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers , after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues."
Ephesians 4:11: "And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers ..."
Maybe you simply don't understand what you are talking about and are making one Bible verse contradict another?
Facepalm. Paul literally called Timothy his spiritual son. If Timothy is a spiritual son to the Apostle Paul, then what does that make the Apostle Paul?
these are the people who will follow the antichrist when he comes in his own name
1 John 2
19 They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.
notice when Jesus says call no man father he says "no man on earth"? and you bring up men who are not on earth.
1 John 2
4 The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;
Romans 4:16: "...but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all ..."
Romans 9:10: "And not only this, but when Rebecca also had conceived by one man, even by our father Isaac ..."
1 Corinthians 4:14-15:
14 I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you.
15 For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers ; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel .
8 By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going.
"By faith Abraham" """"obeyed""""
Faith without works is dead. Faith is not real without works of the teachings of Christ. You cannot achieve faith unless it is given to you from repenting and pleading to God like Jesus said "flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven" this is why John had people confess sins to make way for the Lord. You see all the time people say they believe in Jesus but when shown a teaching of Jesus like "call no man on earth your father" they grumble and refuse to listen to a straight forward command. these are people who have either not been granted faith or are spiritual infants who need to grow in the faith
4 nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering the administration of God which is by faith.
This perfectly describes mormons. learning native americans are hebrew has absolutely nothing to do with salvation and doesn't help people get saved. they go door to door preaching the book of mormon not the gospel
10 After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.
2 Timothy 3
12 Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
The verses that says Jesus "baptizes in Holy Spirit and fire" means you will be born again by the holy spirit and you will go through persecutions and trials which is the fire. you will be refined like silver and tested like gold. this is one of the many reasons why crusades were so bad they refused to accept the persecutions and set their hope on men. holding a cross in your hand like you see people do means nothing its all about the heart you must surrender and trust in God. you will go through tribulations and you will be shown the salvation of God first hand and you will glorify and love him for eternity
41 “A moneylender had two debtors: one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. 42 When they were unable to repay, he graciously forgave them both. So which of them will love him more?” 43 Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.” And He said to him, “You have judged correctly.” 44 Turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45 You gave Me no kiss; but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss My feet. 46 You did not anoint My head with oil, but she anointed My feet with perfume. 47 For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.” 48 Then He said to her, “Your sins have been forgiven.
48 No one of the rulers or Pharisees has believed in Him, has he?
This is a perfect example of "the first are the last and the last the first". They couldn't comprehend Jesus being the Christ because all who they thought would be the first to be accepted by God like "the rulers or Pharisees" were not accepted and who they thought would be the last like the sinners were the first who Christ came to. This also fits with the Parable of Two Debtors. You will never love and respect God being a savior if you don't ever get put in a position that needs saving "he who is forgiven little, loves little"
Acts 15
28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials: 29 that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from sexual immorality, from which if you keep yourselves, you will do well. Farewell.”
17 Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us. 18 For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ, 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things. 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; 21 who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.
1 Then after an interval of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along also. 2 It was because of a revelation that I went up; and I submitted to them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but I did so in private to those who were of reputation, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain.
Do not listen to the people who claim there are different teachings for Jews and Gentiles. Like Jesus told ALL his disciples "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations"
"""all the nations"""
"""teaching them to observe all that I commanded you"""
every teaching Jesus spoke in the gospels is for "all the nations"
8 For though I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it; though I did regret it—for I see that that letter caused you sorrow, though only for a while— 9 I now rejoice, not that you were made sorrowful, but that you were made sorrowful to the point of repentance; for you were made sorrowful according to the will of God, so that you might not suffer loss in anything through us. 10 For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death. 11 For behold what earnestness this very thing, this godly sorrow, has produced in you: what vindication of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what avenging of wrong! In everything you demonstrated yourselves to be innocent in the matter.
11 But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a one. 12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? 13 But those who are outside, God judges. Remove the wicked man from among yourselves.
2 Timothy 2
24 The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, 25 with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.
4 John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 5 And all the country of Judea was going out to him, and all the people of Jerusalem; and they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.
The whole point in John making a way for the Lord was to get the people to confess their sins because again like Matthew 13:14-15 means God blinds the eyes until they "understand with their heart and return". You must want to forsake sin and love God to be able to accept Jesus. We are in a generation where people say they accept Jesus but refuse his words like those who believe in "self defense" and its because Jesus was never appointed to them. This is how you spot the "few" who are on the narrow path by if they do Jesus teachings and abide in him which is impossible without the holy spirit in you.
20 “A Redeemer will come to Zion,
And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” declares the Lord.
Jesus is for those who turn away from disobedience towards God. Step 1 is to repent. God blinds the eyes of those in sin until they repent and plead to him this is what Matthew 13:14-15 means. You must use the law to those under the law to show them they have failed God so they repent and plead to him and be born again under the law of liberty.
James 4
8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.
21 Therefore the Lord heard and was full of wrath;
And a fire was kindled against Jacob
And anger also mounted against Israel,
22 Because they did not believe in God
And did not trust in His salvation.
Do not put your hope in anyone but God. Do not try to be friends with the world if you are in Christ this is not your home. You should be preaching to the lost souls to find their way home with God in heaven. Nothing in this world matters but the people. Help them understand to turn away from their wicked ways to be saved
Ecclesiastes 5
15 As he had come naked from his mother’s womb, so will he return as he came. He will take nothing from the fruit of his labor that he can carry in his hand.
9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, 11 for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.
James 1
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Philippians 4
9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
Titus 1
16 They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work.
4 The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 5 but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: 6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.
"and to those who do not obey the gospel " meaning people who know God and the gospel but do not obey it. You cant just say Jesus is Lord and go about life as normal the people Jesus says begone to literally say 'Lord Lord" they are calling Jesus Lord but being rejected by him. You must believe in your heart and that belief will produce fruit of doing what Jesus taught
2 Thessalonians 1
8 dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
John 14
21 He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.”
Luke 6
46 “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?
