Repeated authentication challenge while sync'ing #2530

Hi @HerrimanCoder,
This UI is actually built-in Visual Studio functionality, not the GitHub extension. It is possible that there might be some interaction between the two though. Could you click On the next dialog, click Once you have authenticated, could you let me know if this behavior continues? Thanks, |

Hi Jamie, I followed your steps, and unfortunately the same behavior continues. What else can I try? Thank you. |
I believe the sync functionality you mention is part of Could you try enabling the Then try pushing and pulling using the You might need to install the Visual Studio 2019 Preview to see this: Please let me know how you get on! |

I went to the trouble to install VS 2019 Preview, enabled the new GIT experience...same exact problem. I have to click on my account for every push and every pull. Also the new GIT experience has no "sync" that I can find, which was a convenient feature. Now I have to click Pull...wait...click Push...wait...and of course have the annoying popup occur twice during this process. Also, in the old Teams view, "pre-GIT window", it showed me when I had a local commit ready to be pushed to the server. The new Git window doesn't seem to have this. I have no way of knowing if I have something that needs to be pushed to the server. The new GIT window doesn't seem any better. I see no advantages, only the missing "sync" feature and the missing "committed changes ready to be pushed to server". Why is the new GIT window missing critical functionality? Why is this experience getting worse instead of better? |

Regarding GitHub Extension for Visual Studio (2.11.104.25275), running inside Visual Studio 2019 (16.5.4).
This problem started about 1-2 weeks ago in my GitHub Extension for Visual Studio 2019; it never happened before that and I'm not sure what might have caused it. Each time I do a
syncwith GitHub Extension for Visual Studio 2019, I am prompted by thePick An Accountpopup screen not once but TWICE. But it's not a full credential challenge-- it brings up the authentication screen and merely requires me to click on my account email address. So I click that, sync continues, but before it finishes, it pops up the same authentication screen AGAIN - exactly same as before, and I have to click on my account email again. Identical/duplicate process both times. Makes no sense. If I sync again 5 seconds later - same exact thing: I get challenged twice by thePick An Accountpopup window and I have to click my account twice. Why isn't this caching/remembering my credentials and reusing it like it used to??Please see screenshots and you'll see exactly what I'm seeing.
I have tried restarting VS2019, rebooting my PC (a few times), re-logging into Azure Devops via the github extension in VS2019 - nothing solves the problem.
I can interact with the web client without any problems at all.
Any ideas?
