How to audit spreadsheets with ChatGPT

Before you start diving into your analysis, you need to audit your data. In this video, I'll show you how to use ChatGPT to audit your spreadsheets and quickly detect any inconsistencies, errors, or missing data. For example, here we have a customer data set that we just inherited from a coworker, and we need to analyze it ASAP. At first glance, everything looks fine, so it's tempting to start diving into this analysis, but if there are any hidden issues in this data, our analysis would be completely wrong. Instead of spending hours auditing, let's see if ChatGPT can help. Open ChatGPT and enter the prompts, audit this data, and identify any errors in the data, missing values, duplicate entries, inconsistencies, et cetera. Then upload the data by clicking the plus icon, choosing add images and files, and selecting the workbook. Send off the prompt, and within seconds, ChatGPT scanned the entire data set and returned a complete audit report. It reviewed and broke down the data structure and identified three different issues. Missing e-mail addresses, duplicate values, formatting errors, and even provided a summary of all the problems it found. This just saved us. Next, let's get these results back to Excel so we can start addressing these issues by telling ChatsDBT, export a fully audited Excel file. Download the new file, and now we have our original data table with audit flags so we can easily review rows containing issues, plus a full audit summary table. This just saved us from a completely wrong analysis.
