Before we discuss the details of the new exam, it is important to know the history of this certification test to have a holistic view of the AWS certification program and to better understand the trends in the cloud computing industry. We will go back in time and rediscover the history of the AWS Certified Generative AI Developer Professional Exam and other exam-related information. Amazon Web Services started its Global Certification Program in 2013, and the primary purpose of this initiative is to validate the necessary technical skills and knowledge of individuals that are required for building secure and reliable cloud-based applications using the AWS cloud. By passing the AWS certification exam, IT professionals can prove their expertise and knowledge in the AWS cloud to their current employers or even to the prospective companies they wish to apply for. AWS unveiled the professional and specialty level certifications a year after in an effort to expand its certification program and continuously release new updates. These professional level exams have covered various domains such as security, data analytics, advanced networking, machine learning, AI, and many others. There are a bunch of new and updated versions of AWS certification exams that are released on a regular basis to include the new services offered by AWS and as well as to incorporate the new knowledge areas. The first version of the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional Exam was released in May 2014. This was followed by the first version of the AWS Certified DevOps engineer professional test on February 2015. These professional exams are regularly updated to reflect the new changes in the AWS ecosystem and to include the emerging technologies in the cloud industry at large. A decade after, the AWS certification and training team released its third professional-level certification test called the AWS Certified Generative AI Developer Professional with an exam code of AIP-C01. The exam code iterates by 1 for every new version of the exam so based on this trend, it can be assumed that the new version of the Generative AI Developer Professional exam will be coming in after a few years with an exam code of AIP-C02, AIP-C03, and so on and so forth. The exam is composed of scenario-based questions that can either be in multiple choice or multiple response formats. The first question type has one correct answer and three incorrect responses, while the latter has two or more correct responses out of five or more options. This exam also have ordering and matching type questions. The ordering question has a list of 3 to 5 responses to complete a specified task where you must select the correct responses and place the responses in the correct order to receive credit for the question. On the other hand, the matching question has a list of responses to match with a list of three to seven prompts where you must match all the pairs correctly to receive credit for the question. The AWS Certified Generative AI Developer Professional exam has a time limit of three hours or 180 minutes only. You can get a score from 100 to 1,000 with a minimum passing score of 750. AWS uses a scaled scoring model to equate scores across multiple exam types that may have different difficulty levels. The complete score report will be sent to you by e-mail after a few days. Right after you complete the actual exam, you'll immediately see a pass or fail notification on the testing screen. You can take the exam from a local testing center or online from the comfort of your home. Within five business days of completing your exam, your AWS certification account will have a record of your complete exam results. The score report contains a table of your performance at each section or domain, which indicates whether you met the competency level required for these domains or not. AWS is using a compensatory scoring model, which means that you do not necessarily need to pass each and every individual section, but only the overall examination. Each section has a specific score weighting that translates to the number of questions. Hence, some sections have more questions than others. The score performance table highlights your strengths and weaknesses that you need to improve on.
