Sure, it may not be making headlines at GitHub’s Universe 25 in San Francisco, but I couldn’t resist trying to understand the story behind a smart badger. Only at a geek conference like this would you get the chance!
GitHub Education bridges the gap between coding education and a tech career, and is accessible to everyone globally at no cost. With free resources like the Student Developer Pack, Teacher Toolbox, GitHub Copilot Pro and Codespaces, take your learning and teaching to a whole new level.

Braillearn was featured live at the GitHub Universe keynote. Dream it in the morning, build it in the afternoon: Collapsing the distance from idea to impact - Martin Woodward Braillearn is a student-built, open-source braille learning system from nwPlus nwHacks: a refreshable braille box with six servo-driven pins + an accessible web app. Learners can type or speak words, feel the raised dots, and progress through structured lessons. Making independent, affordable braille education possible. Built with React/Node, Arduino, speech recognition, and accelerated by GitHub Copilot. From hackathon sprint to the GitHub Universe stage - accessibility innovation in action. Congrats to the entire team!
