Try Gorge Cave (Mistle) in the past.
I don't know if it's the best spot, but it has around 10 enemies bunched up close to the mistle.
For easy enemies you get points for picking up item drops (not kills!) so use anything that will improve item drops (passive and pathos).

The best Present farm is located in the Sunken City, make your way from the Seized Substation Mistle to the Tower of Regeneration (Sunken City).
On your way there you will encounter a lot of monkey enemies among the trees, so keep killing those to raise affinity and be sure to pickup anything you can find to raise it too.

Crab farming on the beach in MagMell - picking up item drops from enemies is one of the things exploration raises by, and crabs count

Or Zenon lab in the Sunken City, if you're too high level for crabs to count anymore. It's short and you can zip right back to the entrance for a fresh go

I didn't know that could happen. Around what level does it become too high to account for crabs?

Not true, to my knowledge of the game.
