I suppose the marketing just wasn't working for them.
After looking at the huge list of all the cosmetics made for maybe ~1% of the audience I can see why it just didn't sell, enough to make a lot of employees redundant.
Celebrate your favorite AAA studios going broke because they believed empty virtue-signaling would make them more money than making a great game.
Was it Bungie pulling the plug on Destiny 2 development for Marathon to fail slower?
Was it the rest of the Concordian Timeline? (Concord, Highguard, Heart Electric, Last Flag, Hunters Gathering Horizontal Mass, etc.)
Microsoft closing South of Profit Compulsion Games?
Microsoft closing Ninja Theory?
Microsoft closing Double Fine (of Spacebase DF-9 infamy here on Steam)?
Ubisoft having to close more studios?
Forknife losing 1k developers?
Is it the imminent closure of Potty Dog for their biggest contribution to video games being yellow "paint" stain on everything and destroying a beloved adoptive father-daughter relationship? (Then again for TV to show it wasn't just gamers who thought it was stupid and bad and the end of the franchise.)
Which one was your favorite?
