Hi @cutefourseven,
Thanks for reaching out. The error you’re seeing happens because WP VR requires PHP 8.0 or higher to run. Unfortunately, the plugin cannot work on PHP 7.4 due to the Composer dependencies it uses.
To use WP VR, you’ll need to upgrade your server’s PHP version to 8.0 or higher. Once the upgrade is complete, the plugin should work without issues.
If you have any further queries do let us know.
Best regards,
Hi @mdrazunmia,
To prevent PHP7 site owners from destroying their sites, please update the required PHP version in the plugin directory. Currently, it is PHP 7.0.0 or higher.
Thanks,
Hi @ykato20,
Thanks a lot for pointing this out.
We’ve already discussed this and have planned to address it in our next plugin release. The update will add compatibility handling for older PHP versions so users won’t run into site-breaking errors.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Best regards,
Hi @cutefourseven and @ykato20,
Thanks for your patience while we worked on resolving the issue!
We’ve addressed the compatibility problem with PHP versions earlier than 8.0, and this fix was included in the recent plugin release—version 8.5.38 (released on 27th August 2025). You should no longer encounter the error regarding PHP version requirements.
Please update to the latest version of WP VR on your site and check if the issue persists. Let us know how it goes or if you run into any further problems—we’re here to help!
Best regards,
