"Great product for DNS Security and intrinsic component for Cisco's Zero Trust - SASE infrastructure."
What do you like best about Cisco Umbrella?

Implemented Cisco Umbrella as our de-facto DNS security solution for outbound internet traffic. Saw immediate wins, by seeing drastic reduction in number of the DNS requests towards crypto mining sites, CnC sites. Helped enforce domain based filtering, providing domain reputation scores (which fed into TPRM assessments) for partners. Ease of use (all you need to do is configure Cisco Umbrella as DNS forwarder) .Easy to implement as all you need to do is configure the Cisco Umbrella anycast IPs as DNS forwarder. Cisco's customer support is proactive, however there are typically no issues considering the platform is fairly stable. The domain whitelisting / re-categorization turn around time is typically quick between 24-36 hours, for most of the cases we had. Easy to integrate with Cisco SIG, easy to implement the Cisco VAs, on different form factors - vSphere / AWS cloud, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cisco Umbrella?

There is no integration between Cisco Umbrella with third party next generation firewalls such as Palo Alto firewalls / Prisma Access or Fortinet firewalls, which implies that the encrypted channel established between Cisco Virtual Appliances (VAs) and Umbrella cloud cannot be decrypted if SSL decryption is enabled on the perimeter firewall. "Nice, Clear and easy to use for web filtering ,"
What do you like best about Cisco Umbrella?

We are using Cisco Umbrella to integrate with SD-WAN Edge devices to provide cloud based security. This helps us to layoff the security analysis and logs storage responsibilities from the SD-WAN Edge routers. One use-case of Cisco Umbrella usage is to integrate using manual IPSEC Tunnels and the other use-case is to implement auto IPSEC tunnels using APIs. The third use-case of using Cisco Umbrella is for a DNS Security where the internet bound traffic is routed towards Cisco Umbrella first for the security assessments. Once the device is integrated using any of these use-cases, we can implement the policies from the Umbrella portal for carrying out the desired level of security hardening.

In my opinion, Cisco Umbrella is a pretty cool cloud based security service that can help enterprises to meet their cyber readiness and security compliance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Open Dns -Cisco Umbrella"
What do you like best about Cisco Umbrella?

Cisco Umbrella is a robust cloud-delivered security platform that provides reliable protection against a wide range of online threats. Its DNS-layer security is highly effective in blocking malicious domains before a connection is even established, offering a proactive first line of defense.

The platform is easy to deploy and integrates seamlessly with existing security infrastructures. Its intuitive dashboard and detailed reporting capabilities make it simple to monitor threats, manage policies, and gain insights into network activity.

One of the standout features of Cisco Umbrella is its ability to protect users both on and off the corporate network, making it especially valuable in today’s hybrid and remote work environments. The added layers of protection, including secure web gateway (SWG), firewall, and cloud access security broker (CASB) functionalities, provide comprehensive coverage without adding complexity.

Overall, Cisco Umbrella is a powerful and reliable solution for organizations looking to enhance their cybersecurity posture with minimal overhead and maximum visibility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cisco Umbrella?

Cisco Umbrella can be relatively expensive for smaller organizations, especially when scaling across many users. Additionally, its advanced configuration options may require a learning curve for less experienced administrators. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Cloud Security and DNS Protection with Easy Deployment"
What do you like best about Cisco Umbrella?

Cisco Umbrella is very effective at providing DNS-layer protection, blocking malicious domains before threats can reach users or devices. The cloud-based approach makes deployment and scaling extremely simple, with minimal infrastructure overhead. The reporting dashboards are intuitive and provide valuable insights into threat activity, allowing administrators to act quickly. Integration with other Cisco products also strengthens the overall security ecosystem and enhances visibility across the network. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cisco Umbrella?

While Cisco Umbrella is powerful, the pricing can be a barrier for smaller organizations, as costs increase with scale. Some advanced policy configurations require additional expertise to fine-tune properly. In addition, reporting customization could be more flexible to allow deeper drill-downs. Despite these points, the platform remains highly effective for enterprise-level protection. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cisco Umbrella SWG and Secure Client are excellent products"
What do you like best about Cisco Umbrella?

It reduces complexity within the organisation and using simply policies to protect, clients and endpoints. It also integrates well with other products. It was fairly easy to implement, as we migrated from the old Scansafe offering Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cisco Umbrella?

The User Roles isn't very good. It can sometimes we difficult to remedy certain blocked websites. Also it would be nice if Umbrella, could simply allow the M365 whitelist urls, instead of havig to put them in yourself. The same applies with other well known products.
