Great service for managing wordpress sites, and if anything goes wrong with the service they offer, or your site in general then they are available with live chat to assist. Often but not always they simply can fix the problem for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Not much to dislike, but I do have two complaints...

One is that the monthly price of hosting is very very high for low traffic or non-business sites.

The other gripe is that they really offer no support or assistance for wordpress multisites (to be clear their management services and plugins do support multisite, they will just not assist you with migrating to a multisite), and it kinda seems like their products are engineered to make it difficult to save money on hosting by moving from individual sites hosted with them to a multisite. I have several personal (and a couple business) low traffic sites which I would really like to host with them without having to pay the full price of their managed VPS for each one. To save money on hosting these sites I need to set up my own VPS and manage it myself, else I have to pay $18/mo for each very low traffic site.

Overall, I wouldn't let either of these issues stop you from using WPMU dev. If the hosting is too expensive for your low traffic or personal site then you can still host elsewhere and use their management service, and their products do work on mulitisite, it has just always proven impossible for me to successfully move my existing sites to a multisite using their backup system, and I never wanted to build them again from scratch. Though I would prefer to host all my sites with WPMU, it's just very expensive and they seem to make migrating out deliberately buggy and non functional. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I migrated the sites I manage to WPMU DEV over the course of a few months, and it has been absolutely fantastic. Migrations for each site were quick and painless, and whenever an issue arose the support team was quick with a fix. The suite of plugins available and The Hub feature have become core parts of my builds now. WPMU DEV is easy to use. I love how you can see what you should upload as far as plugins, and then the next steps are easily laid out. I already wear a lot of hats, I don't need to also become a full stack developer to get a few performance improvements on my nonprofit website.

I had an issue today with my website not working correctly on my mobile site - and i went to the chat and was helped quickly. Jamil was friendly and gave easy to follow instructions. My problem was resolved in less than 5 minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I haven't experienced any downsides, maybe one confusion point that I will ask about is that I used Smush Pro and it said it was converting images from .png and .jpg to the quicker loading formats. But when I go to my media library I don't see the new formats anywhere, just repeat versions of the same photo. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Support both live chat and support ticket so far! Out of so many hosting and/or WordPress related services provider, WPMU is the best. They not just solve issue/support needed under their watch, but other than WPMU plugins or hosting, they are more than happy to assist you.

I have been a member of this platform for over five years and have seen its business model shift from multisite services to a focus on support and hosting.

I decided to terminate my agency-level membership due to concerns about its renewal pricing policy. The renewal price is significantly higher than the advertised price for new users, yet this difference is not clearly disclosed on their website. This could mislead new users into believing the initial rate applies to yearly renewals when, in reality, it is a one-time offer for first-time subscribers.

I believe transparency is crucial in pricing, and it would be more ethical for the company to clearly state renewal rates upfront. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Proactive, solution-oriented, friendly.

Machines can all be within a fraction of each other's performance, but it is the people that make a place shine. I have websites older than WPMU and have hosted everywhere from solar-powered boutiques to AWS instances. Everything else being equal, service always makes the difference.

But at WPMU it is not equal. I subscribed to their plug-in suite and even though I had my sites spread out through several hosts, it made my life much more manageable. Sucess there led me to investigate their hosting services. I am in the process of moving 10 sites (4 client, 6 mine) ranging from real estate, home rental, and teaching sites, to ecommerce. Their support in archival mail migration (they have an app for that) and overnight site relocation (via FTP) makes a scary road very well lit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Full house service capabilities so that we don't need to employ those extra staff to handle technical queries. They are great at technical support for Wordpress. We like that we can hand off a lot of services to WPMUDEV. Wish they would charge Australian dollars instead of USD, because the exchange rate is horrendous. Lately WPMUDEV has started charging for additional services which were included in the past. While I understand the commercial reasons for this, it is a bit cheeky for those that have been longtime investors in their platform and services.

New email service offerings on the hosting plans are not up to other company offers. For example, they only offer 100MB accounts and IMAP which cannot compete with other hosting companies email services provided with hosting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The Live Chat support is fantastic. They usually go above and beyond to assist in more complex matters. The only support I have experience that has rivaled this was with WP Engine's Enterprise plans, but WPMU DEV is a considerably cheaper alternative with a more rounded and always expanding service offering. I rely on the entire collection of WPMUDev's products and services for my freelance work. It's worth the cost in every way. The best part is the excellent and easily accessible support, which has saved me time and headache more than once - with a special mention for Fida, who helped me with a down site tonight.
