So let's define linear versus non-linear in the context of our skate park example. Linear relationships are like skateboarding straight down a smooth path. It's direct and predictable. Much like when one variable changes, the effect on another variable is straightforward and consistent. Non-linear relationships however, resemble the experience of navigating a skate park laden with ramps, bowls and twists, your route becomes less predictable, incorporating various complex tricks and turns.
