Artificial intelligence (AI) and data science
Data science and artificial intelligence are inseparable and complementary. Without data science, artificial intelligence, or AI, cannot exist, as it relies heavily on data to train its models. Data science curates and provides the data to help AI learn and produce as useful and accurate information and knowledge as possible. Of course, data science is much more than simply supplying cleaned and prepared data. Rather, it extracts actionable insights from data and encompasses analysis and visualization. On the other hand, AI acts as an engine for many data science tasks. In fact, a significant portion of data science involves studying AI, as shown in the diagram. Data scientists use machine learning, or ML, a form of AI, to make detections and predict future trends based on historical data.
