Text basics in Finale

- [Instructor] Scores contain many text items including title, composer, lyricist, and even performance markings. While many of these items are defined and added as expressions, others are added as text. So I've got the Text Basics document open, and let's choose the Text tool and let's add some text. So with the Text tool selected, I'm going to double click and you'll notice that I get a little box where I can type the text. So let's add the terms Closed Score here. Now a closed score is the kind of score that we're looking at where the soprano and alto parts are on one stave and the tenor and bass are on the other. And that would be in contrast to a score where the soprano, alto, tenor and bass parts all get their own stave. Now while we're there, let's format this text. So I'm going to highlight the text that I've typed in there and I'm going to go back to the Text menu and let's go to Font and I'm going to go down and…
