Color temperature

- Although you may not notice it with your eyes, light comes in a wide range of colors. And I'm talking about so called white light that we see everyday, not the colors of light you see at the discotheque or when the police are chasing you. I'm talking about full spectrum white light. It comes in a specific color temperature. Believe it or not, daylight is actually blue and the light from your household lamps is actually orange. You don't notice the difference because your eyes and brain are very good at correcting this and compensating, so colors appear normal in either kind of light without you even noticing the difference. But cameras are not as clever as you are. Whether it's film or video, your imaging medium is set to record colors correctly at only one color temperature at a time.
