So, in the overview section, we discussed that the tutorial data is going to come from four different hosts, which are web servers 1, 2, 3, and then the local host. We've already uploaded the data from web servers 1, 2, and 3, and now we are going to see how we generate events within our own Splunk instance using an app known as the Events Gen. app. Now before we get to that point let's just remind ourselves about some of the things that were discussed during Splunk installation. Now we said that you can install Splunk in three default operating systems which are Windows, Linux and Mac OS. When you install in each of them if you don't specify a directory it's going to install in the default directory which is referred to as Splunk Home. So for Windows it's going to install by default in Program Files Splunk, in Linux is OPT Splunk, and in Mac OS is Applications slash Splunk.
