Adding different types of filters
- [Instructor] Oftentimes, we are not interested in the whole dataset. Instead, we want to focus on a certain subset of our data by using filters. If we are only interested in exactly one value, we can simply double click on that label and Tableau will create a filter for us. We can see that a blue pill labeled SKU was moved to the filters shelf. If we remove that pill, the filter gets removed so we can see all our data again. We can also select a number of marks by pressing Control. You can either hover and select keep only, or you can find the same option if you right-click on any of those marks. Tableau again inserts this field in the filters shelf. We can also do the reverse. If we wish to exclude the selected values, simply select Exclude. Of course, you can filter by any field by simply dragging it to the filters shelf. Let's do that for SKU. For discrete dimensions, Tableau will offer you a list from where you can choose any selection of values. There are also other options and…
