Wireless interference
(gentle music) - [Narrator] One of the potential challenges we have with wireless networks is interference. That's where our signal using a particular band of frequencies is going to be corrupted by another signal using an overlapping frequency band. And recall that most of our wireless networks today are going to be operating on the 2.4 Gig band, the 5 Gig band, or some of the newer networks on the 6 Gig band. Let's take a look at some common sources of wireless interference. It could be having an access point or a wireless device too close to a microwave oven. Or Bluetooth devices, they typically use the 2.4 gigahertz band, which might overlap with that band in our wireless network. We could have a wireless video camera that interferes with our networks, even something like fluorescent lights. Or if we live in close proximity to a powerful outdoor microwave tower that could cause some interference. And a source of wireless interference that I've experienced in my home is radar. I…
