- [Instructor] Welcome to the Splunk Dashboard Studio lesson. You are in for a treat. Some background about Splunk Dashboard Studio. Splunk added the Dashboard Studio in Splunk Enterprise 8.2. It is available in addition to the classic dashboards that we saw in the previous lesson. It strives to provide more flexibility and customization options, such as adding background images. It is visually more polished, intuitive, and very attractive. The underlying framework has been changed from simple XML to JSON based configuration. Splunk Dashboard Studios will eventually replace classic dashboards at some point, but I expect that won't happen soon, maybe for next two years. Examples Hub. Splunk provides several examples out of the box for you to review and perhaps get inspired. The Examples Hub can be accessed right from the dashboards app within Splunk Web.
