What's new in Splunk 9?
- Splunk Enterprise 9. In this section, let's take a look at what's new in Splunk Enterprise 9. Splunk Enterprise 9 is Splunk's latest major version. Splunk 8.X is no longer officially supported as of September 2023. All of the examples provided in this course, however, will work just fine on both 8.X and 9.X. A quick note about Splunk's versioning scheme. The first digit indicates the major version, the second digit indicates the minor version, and the third digit indicates the maintenance version. Splunk seems to release one maintenance version every couple of months or so. Let's take a look at what are the major updates with Splunk Enterprise 9? Splunk home page gets a makeover and it looks terrific. The new home page is available from Splunk version 9.1.2 onwards. We'll take a tour of the home page in a demo later in this section.
