📢 Google Chrome is moving to a 2 week release cycle! More in https://goo.gle/4r2mmSK Also, a short history on browser update frequency: • 2001: MSFT shipped IE6 & didn't release a major update for 5+ YEARS! Safari updated ~annually • 2010: Chrome commits to 6-week releases & automatic updates. (People called us crazy.) • 2021: Chrome updates to 4-week releases. (People said it was too fast.) • 2026: Chrome goes to 2-week releases. (Opinions TBD :) Release early, release often for fresher features and faster fixes... especially important with AI vuln discovery! 💪

🎂 Chrome is 18 years old! That's 72 years in internet time, 126 in dog years, and 154 beta releases! From introducing a multi-process browser architecture to delivering Chrome DevTools for agents, Chrome has been driving innovation from the beginning to the present. The web looks quite a bit different than it did in 2008. Which milestone stands out most in your dev journey?

We’re always working to make Google Chrome faster, safer, and more stable without interrupting what you’re doing. As someone who normally keeps a lot of tabs and windows open, I know how important it is to not lose your spot! On a recent episode of Google’s Cloud Security Podcast, my colleagues Jasika Bawa and Doug Turner shared how we’re using AI to patch bugs faster than ever without disturbing your open tabs. Check out the episode to see how it works under the hood: https://goo.gle/4qBPkbL

AI Mode is now live in Google Chrome in the UK! 🇬🇧 Last year, we brought AI Mode to Search, helping people ask more detailed, nuanced questions and keep exploring with follow-ups. Now, we're making that experience even more seamless in Chrome. With the new plus (+) menu in the address bar or New Tab page, you can add context to your search, including images and tabs you already have open, and ask whatever's on your mind. So whether you're comparing hotels for a holiday, researching your next purchase or trying to make sense of the 20 tabs you've promised yourself you'll eventually read 🫠, AI Mode can use that context to help you find what you need. Give it a go on desktop or mobile 🔍 https://lnkd.in/er7xjcav
