This takes us to the third V, values. Values are things that bring your life meaning and purpose, but we often chase things that look good on the outside, but they don't bring us sustainable joy. In my book, I talk about the difference between high-level values and low-level values. For example, there was a time when I was focused more on the accolades, the degrees, the accomplishments, But that didn't really leave me feeling satisfied. It left me searching for more. When I had to take a step back and tap into values that bring me purpose and meaning, such as pouring into my community and educating others, that was what brought me purpose. That brought me meaning. You don't necessarily have to abandon success and your professional career in order to hold on to true values. With many of my clients, they often lose sight of what their true values are. So I have to use exercises to help them to go back in time to rediscover their true values.
