- Welcome everyone. In this lesson, we will talk about authentication methods. So our learning goal for this lesson will be to discuss the basic concept behind authentication. We will talk about different types of authentication, and we will also explain some of the modern authentication concepts. So first, let's dive into authentication mechanisms and the basic concepts behind it. So when we talk about authentication, we immediately think about, you know, entering your username and password. So there are actually three components, or you can think about three parts of authentication. The first is identification, which means who is the subject or who are we trying to authenticate. So in this step, we define who the user is. We basically process the identity of the user, and this part can also be validated. We'll talk more about that. The next part is the actual authentication.
